Valutrades Rejects Exit Rumors Amid Client Review

Valutrades issued the clarification after websites began circulating claims about a possible market exit. The speculation appears to have intensified after prospective customers encountered a message on the Valutrades website stating that new account applications were closed. The notice appeared on both its United Kingdom website and its international operation, Valutrades Seychelles Limited.
The company said the closure of new applications should not be interpreted as a retreat from its global business. Instead, it described the move as a strategic exercise designed to identify which client segments and services remain commercially sustainable and compatible with its longer term operating model.
Valutrades said it has stopped servicing certain categories of clients and services that it considers commercially unsustainable or insufficiently profitable. Management characterised the decision as portfolio optimisation rather than a withdrawal from a particular jurisdiction or region.
Chief Executive Graeme Watkins said the broker was seeking to concentrate its resources on markets and customer groups that fit its future business strategy and could be served on a sustainable basis. The statement comes at a sensitive moment for the retail trading industry, where brokers are facing pressure to balance customer acquisition, regulatory obligations and the rising cost of maintaining operations across multiple jurisdictions.
The company's latest financial figures provide additional context. Valutrades reported revenue of £2.3 million for 2025, representing a 16 percent increase from £1.9 million in 2024. At the same time, it recorded a net loss of £672,000, although that was a significant improvement from the £2.6 million loss reported a year earlier. Administrative expenses also fell by 25 percent to £1.9 million.
After the end of the financial year, shareholders provided a further £600,000 capital injection, according to the report. The company remains led by Watkins, who has served as chief executive since 2015, while Indonesian investors Aman Lakhiani and Anil Bahirwani control the business.
Valutrades also indicated that its approach to new customers would become more selective. In particular, the broker said it would apply greater scrutiny to customers and jurisdictions considered to carry elevated risk. Changes to its know your customer and onboarding procedures are expected to accompany the review, with some technical adjustments taking place in the short term.
For existing clients, the company said its financial position remained stable and that client money continued to be held in segregated accounts with Tier 1 banking institutions. It also maintained that shareholders continued to support the business and its longer term strategy.
Traders and investors can also use a free mobile application called WikiFX, which plays a crucial role in verifying the legitimacy of brokers and financial platforms.
